The Gemini Solutions Group in collaboration with Gemini Foundry Inc are proud to announce that the third edition of Foundry conferences will take place on September 23, 2014. Our special guest will be Romain Lavault, General Partner and Head of Seed/Early Stage Fund at Partech in Paris.

Romain Lavault - Partech

Romain joined Partech International in 2013 and focuses on seed and early stage opportunities in Data, Mobility, Internet and next-generation online services in Europe, with a particular focus on the French market.

Prior to joining Partech, Romain most recently served as a Vice President, Strategy and M&A at Dassault Systèmes, the 2nd largest software company in Europe. Romain sold and merged to Dassault Systèmes his prior company Intercim early 2011, specialized in web-based applications for advanced and distributed Manufacturing, for which he served as VP Sales Worldwide and VP Strategy. Prior to Intercim, Romain lived a unique entrepreneurial adventure with the predictive analytics startup Pertinence between France and the US, where he relocated in 2005. At Pertinence, Romain served as VP Sales and Chief Operating Officer between 2001 and 2007, until Pertinence merged with Intercim.

Romain Niccoli is Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder of Criteo, one of the best european startups in the last decade. With a strong background in software development and team management, he had a major influence in the successful evolution of the company. Previously, Romain gained his technical experience by helding several positions at Microsoft, Redmond, USA, including management and leadership of large teams of software engineers. Romain Niccoli holds a master's degree in Computer Science from Ecole des Mines de Paris, France.

Key Speaker - Nicolas El Baze

Nicolas El Baze

Nicolas El Baze joined Partech International in 2000 and focuses on early stage opportunities in Software and Internet.

Prior to Partech, Nicolas spent 15 years as an entrepreneur and was a co-founder of several venture-funded companies: Softway International (acq. by ITway), Softway Systems (acq. by Microsoft), and ISDnet (acq. by Cable & Wireless). Nicolas also lead the >Softway Venture Development activity which resulted in the incubation of several successful start-ups in the U.S. and Europe including: RightPoint (acq. by E.piphany), MultiMania (IPO - acq. by Lycos Europe), and LibertySurf (IPO - acq. by Tiscali). Nicolas also served on the boards of Meiosys (IBM), Akimbi Systems (VMware), Pantero (Progress Software), ClearApp (Oracle), and Q-Layer (Sun Microsystems).

Nicolas received an MBA from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris, and an International Management Program degree from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and Universität zu Köln, Germany.

He is also a co-founder of DBF, the leading French tech entrepreneur network in the US.
